Lunar New Year greetings from ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ president Ajay Patel

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ president and CEO, Ajay Patel standing in Broadway building B

Dear ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ community,

On February 17, we welcome the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Fire Horse. I’d like to extend my warm wishes to all members of the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ community who are celebrating.

The Horse holds an important place in the Lunar zodiac and is traditionally associated with energy, expression, and movement. Paired with the element of fire, it is often understood as a time marked by vitality and renewal. As we mark the beginning of the Lunar New Year, we take this moment to recognize its deep cultural significance and the many traditions it represents.

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ is pleased to celebrate the Lunar New Year at the Downtown Campus on February 18 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Hosted by the Students’ Union of ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ and the International Education department, the event offers an opportunity to come together, learn, and acknowledge the rich cultures and histories of Asian communities.

The celebration will include spring rolls, fortune cookies, games, and lucky red envelopes (Lai See), along with a traditional lion dance at 12:00pm in the campus atrium. I hope to see many of you there!

On behalf of the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Board of Governors and the leadership team, I wish our students, employees, and all those at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ who observe the Lunar New Year a happy and meaningful Year of the Horse.

Warmly,

Ajay Patel
President and CEO
